Macro specialist Leon Baas is taking us to Texel. For the non-Dutch among us, Texel is the largest Dutch Wadden Island. Until 1170 it was still connected to the mainland, but after the "All Saints' Flood", it became an island. Leon wants to photograph so-called dune mushrooms. When taking macro shots on the beach, he has to deal with the drifting sand and windy conditions. In this video, he shows how he deals with these weather elements and how he mastered the conditions to take that cool macro photo.

Sometimes it is not possible to use a model during a shoot. But you do want to be able to tell a story through images or at least want to create an image. In this case, Gemmy has hardly prepared herself. So she didn't make a storyboard, but just started from the idea of what she had in her head. The choice was made for a so-called still life. The advantage is that there is no need for a model, or a make-up artist, or a hair stylist, etc. What the result of this way of working is shows Gemmy with the following video.

Nothing is more important than connection when you are photographing children. However, sometimes you end up with the perfect moment but your child is not looking directly at you. Join me in this video as I edit Debbie Polanco’s image of her three children and adjust one of her children’s gaze so she can have the image she desires. This is an easy to follow tutorial that you will be able to apply to any near misses with eye contact.
I have repeatedly said that I do not teach Photoshop, I teach possibility and vision. I have come to realize that many photographers need help to learn to edit their images effectively. So, I brought in Ben Willmore, author of over a dozen Photoshop books, who has literally taught hundreds of thousands of people how to use Photoshop, and has even been inducted into the Photoshop Hall of Fame.
