Learn how to create stand-out product images with this detailed class, as Karl demonstrates a number of useful techniques while shooting a Wilson tennis racket.
Throughout this class, you’ll see how Karl shoots two separate images to create the final shot (and what compositional considerations that entailed). As the shoot progresses, you’ll see the lighting techniques for photographing black products on a black background; how to capture motion using fast flash duration; different triggering devices and their advantages and disadvantages; and how to use long exposures for creative effect.
This watch photography course will break down the fundamentals of commercial still life photography: lighting, composition and styling. A special emphasis will also be on setting up the studio, equipment and materials needed, and post-production editing. I recently had the pleasure to photograph watches for a leading watch manufacturer. Twissic is a family-owned watch business with over 30 years of manufacturing experience. In the end, I created two interesting images that the client can use as marketing material. Both images were well-received by the client and my photography community. I have also just realized an in-depth watch photography tutorial that will guide you through both images.
In this advanced photography workshop, you will learn how to shoot high-gloss and complicated surfaces such as the kind glossy shoes have. As usual, we’re going to create a really interesting setup with some cool props. This is great for when you are showcasing your product in your portfolio and for social media.
As a professional photographer, you can reap great benefits from our workshops that you can immediately apply to your own commercial work. As a student of photography looking to expand your technical and creative skills, you’ll find our workshops are the perfect way to gain hands-on experience across the spectrum of product photography.
Below is the outcome of the photo-shot I’ve got during this product photography lesson. During the 50 minutes BTS video I guide you through the shot, explaining what camera I’ve used for this shot and why and many other things which you’ll find only in a real shot. I do not hide my mistakes, and you can learn form them too.
This class is perfect for intermediate photographers who want to understand what an industry standard like Vogue Italia looks for in a editorial.
However, the techniques and methods used while retouching in Photoshop are suitable for all levels, so don't be afraid to just jump in and learn as much as possible.

Hi! My name is Rose. I am a food and product photographer. Most of my work is dedicated to helping small businesses increase sales and online presence through scroll stopping product photos. I also do virtual workshops for online sellers who want to DIY their photoshoots and just last year I had the honor and privilege to become one of Skillshare’s top teachers. I created this class to demystify the most technically complex part of my product photography journey, camera settings.

Here I show my current way of working with window light when I shoot alone. I recently found some behind the scenes footage from this shoot so I included it in the video to really give an understanding of the light and the location. In the video “Julia with window light” I show how I used to do it or how I would do it if I used some additional equipment or an assistant. These two videos are a bit connected because they show two different ways of working under similar conditions. By comparing them you can also see how I handle the light now compare to more than one year earlier.
