Brom was born March 9, 1965 in Georgia, USA. His father was a U.S. Air Force pilot and served in overseas bases, so childhood Brom was in Frankfurt, Germany. For a time he lived and Bromine in Japan. During his military service the future artist was so used to being called only by the name of that almost forgotten his name - Gerald. It is signed, and asks to call him, simply, "Brom."

With twenty years of Bromine is engaged in professional illustration. The first time he has been associated with the advertising business. In 1989, Jeff Easley invited him to the headquarters of publisher TSR / WIzards of the Coast, she edited the desktop role-playing games, and books on them. Brom has worked on books and collectors' cards in the universe Forgotten Realms, Dark Sun and Magic: The Gathering.
