You will learn principles of neuroscience, cognitive psychology, and the learning sciences that apply to learners of any age. In addition to mastering the theory behind these educational strats, you will learn five easy ways to use them in your classroom–or Zoom room or kitchen table, for all of you tutors and homeschool educators!This class will teach you all the best strats that I learned during my at the University of Cambridge (MPhil Psychology & Education) and my many years as a middle and high school educator.After completing this course, you will know the following:- How students form long-term memories- The neuroscience behind why students work hard to learn something one day but forget it the next- How to implement the science-backed strats of active recall and spaced repetition- Which common study techniques have been found to be shockingly ineffective for long-term learning and what to do instead- In-class activities and at-home assignments that strengthen long-term learning
